Holbox Island is an island in the north of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, in the state of Quintana Roo. It is part of the Yum Balam Biosphere Reserve and is separated from the mainland by the Yalahau Lagoon, which is home to flamingos and pelicans. The island is located between the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, with waters rich in marine fauna, such as sea turtles. The island's highlights include the tranquil Holbox villa and Punta Coco beach.
